About The Opportunity

Comtech’s Command & Control Technologies Government Services Division is looking for a qualified candidate to provide information and assistance resources that troubleshoot problems with computers or similar products on the network. The candidate will be responsible for interfacing directly with customers and addressing their needs to the fullest extent possible. The selected candidate will be responsible for the configuration, operations, maintenance, troubleshooting and resolution of customer technical problems over the phone, via e-mail, on-site or using remote connectivity. Candidate will be expected to work with a spirit of cooperation and must exhibit a tenacious work ethic while possessing the drive and critical thinking to excel in potentially tumultuous conditions.

Primary Duties

This position will be responsible for environments and related network equipment.  The candidate will troubleshoot and do Level I maintenance of computer hardware and software and provide the proper support to any given network being supported.

The Candidate Will Be Responsible For The Following Actions

    • Shall sit at the help desk and respond to walk-in customer questions.
    • Shall field trouble calls via the phone and computer trouble ticketing system.
    • Shall perform laptop imaging.
    • Shall perform basic IP troubleshooting.
    • Shall build user accounts on the domain.
    • Shall add and remove computers from a Microsoft domain environment.
    • Shall assign user accounts to appropriate groups and permissions.
    • Shall build exchange mailboxes.
    • Shall troubleshoot user email issues.
    • Shall troubleshoot printers and map shared printers.
    • Shall document trouble calls and computer/network actions for reporting purposes.

Minimum Experience

 

All candidates will have the basic qualifications below:

    • Shall have six (6) years related work experience and shall have two (2) years of experience in a military environment.
    • Shall have experience with current best practices in IT standards, principles (ITIL), and security practices.

Education Requirement

Associate’s degree in computer science preferred

In lieu of an Associate’s degree in computer science, the candidate must meet either of the following:

    • A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
    • 11 years of recent specialized experience.
    • Shall have A+.
    • Shall have Security+.
    • Shall have Network+.
    • Will have Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) 70-270.
    • Will have CCNA.
    • Shall have a minimum of four (4) years in IT customer support and shall have two (2) years’ experience in a military environment.

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Medical screening in conjunction with the US Army CRC (CONUS Replacement Center) guidelines.
